These documents are based on the project entitled Literacy Assessment Practices (LAP) in Selected Developing Countries, undertaken by the ILI in collaboration with UNESCO, UIS, UIE, and country case study teams from India, China, Nigeria and Mexico.The ILI wishes to thank all LAP country team leaders and their associates for very helpful inputs to this and other LAP documents.
The ILI team composed of Dr. Dan Wagner, Dr. Mohamed Maamouri, and Dr. Martha Wright would like to thank UNESCO/UIS/UIE staff for their support and inputs throughout the project.
NB: The country case studies are working documents and have only been lightly edited for rapid digital publication.
