Biography Alisher Akhmedov is head of the Education Department of the National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO. He started his career at the National Commission in 1995 as a senior expert on education and youth. During his work at the National Commission he was a participant of several international conferences held by UNESCO and worked on different projects pertaining to education and youth in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. He is participating in the establishment of the National Center for Out-of-School Youth project and is project coordinator for the Second Regional Summer Youth Camp for Central Asia. Alisher has his degree in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Korean Broadcasting training course and Tashkent Institute of Communication. He worked for the Uzbek National Television Company from 1991 to 1993. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and a B.A. in International Economy from Tashkent State Economic University.
