Biography Yamundow Jagne-Jobe is a Principal Education Officer (PEO) at the Adult and Non-Formal Education Directorate of the Department of State for Education. She holds a Master's Degree in Adult Literacy and Community Development related to gender at the University of Manchester UK and a higher diploma in Adult Education and Rural Development from Fourth Bay College, The University of Sierra Leone, Freetown. She also holds a Qualified Teacher's Certificate and taught for 15 years in the formal school system at various levels. She is responsible for the production of literacy learning materials,
training of trainers, research, monitoring and evaluation. At policy level
she assists the director on policy issues related to adult and non-formal
education activities and gender issues. She served as project officer to
the Functional and Post Literacy Project for Rural Women in the Gambia sponsored
by UNESCO from 1992-1995. Yamundow has conducted consultancies related to
women's literacy and development for various national and international
