Steve Linberg

Biography

Steve Linberg is Systems Programmer and Technology Specialist at the National Center on Adult Literacy at the Graduate School of Education/University of Pennsylvania. He spent fifteen years as a computer programmer, technology trainer, and technical writer at a variety of high-tech firms in New England and overseas before joining NCAL in 1997. He also spent several years as an adult literacy teacher at the HALO Center in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is an expert in many programming languages, and does most of his current CGI and support work in Perl, Visual Basic and SQL in the MS/IIS and Apache web server environments. He also manages multiple networked operating environments at NCAL, incorporating Windows NT, UNIX, and Mac OS, and conducts staff training on diverse topics such as databases, HTML, and Internet usage. Currently, he is the lead programmer for the PBS LiteracyLink Project. He has a BA from Hampshire College.
