Welcome to SLTP 2000!

SLTP FellowsThe International Literacy Institute's Summer Literacy Training Program (SLTP) will take place from July 5 to July 28, 2000 at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA. This annual program is open to mid-career professionals as well as younger specialists involved in literacy work worldwide, with a priority given to developing countries.SLTP `99

 

 

Selected participants will have the opportunity to participate in an intensive month-long training program at the International Literacy Institute, which is co-sponsored by UNESCO and the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. The program will include several weeks of training, with workshops and seminars, and a number of field visits to local literacy centers and institutions within the United States. Topics will include literacy policy and planning, multilinguistic and multicultural educational contexts, child and family literacy development, literacy assessment and evaluation, non-formal and distance education, and literacy innovations and the use of technology for the training of literacy and basic education policymakers and providers.
